~Group students and on a poster paper reflect on the following
1. 6-8 sentences of overall main points of the two articles combined. 3 sentences per article explaing the key points 
2. 5 definitions of unfamiliar words. Find the definition either on phone or with a dictionary
3. 1 paragraph of your opinion, reactions, perceptions when it came to the article, "When Children Commit Murder." Do you agreethat the children should be victims of crime or not? Need to provide your justification for the side you will take in the court case.

F: 9/11: Power Point on Argumentative Writing Process
~ Students will take Cornell Notes on the power point and we will review the practice quotes for monday in class activity

M: 9/14: MLA Quiz***had all weekend to study and review notes for the 5 min. At the end of 10/15 minutes of class take out quotes and in groups of 4-5 peer edit quotes and write one example of the quote your group exemplified the quote accordingly to your group number from power point * steps 1-4.

T: 9/15: Sub* I will be at a MYP meeting: Students will work on grammaer (p.372-379 exercise 1,4&5) remaining of class period will work on an article, "Real Hero's," where you will need to make annotations, 10 defintions of words that are unfamiliar to you, and the following questions (1-10)

W: 9/16: Review Article and turn in at the end of class. The questions/defintions/annotations should be complete by end of class. 

Th: 9/20: In class practice of Argumentative Paper "Timed Write" Students will use their notes from our writer's workshop and have all class period to work on their paper. Due at the end of class

F: 9/21: Outside Reading/Creative Writing (First 20 min.) of creative writing where students will write about any story they choose of their own. May make up a fairy tale or story that is appropriate to share with class and the remaining of time we will read. HW: Bring literature books for Monday
