~Name Game with Ball: Divide the class into two groups numbering off students 1,2. Students will toss the ball around as they call the name of the class mate they are throwing the ball to. Groups will compete who can do this the fastest without dropping the ball and calling students names accordingly
~Cornell note: film; Students will take notes on what are the importance of avid style notes.

~Motival Family Friday: Make a poster with their group members on an AVID Island. Requirements: #1-10 need to be displayed on their poster by the end of the class period. Groups will share their posters the last 10 minutes of class

Day 25: M: (9/14): Word of the day and then quiz of 9 words from previous week. Students will then watch an AVID clip of Socratic seminars. Take cornell notes during the video, and then students and teacher will discuss the breakdown of our socratic seminar, which will be on wednesday. *find group leaders (2) find pilots (4) and recorder (1). Hand out excerpt; "On Revenge," by Sir Francis Bacon. HW: Students will analyze the text and everyone wll need to make questions and notes in the margains ready to participate for Wednesday's socratic seminar.

Day 26: T (9/15): Sub *I will be at an MYP meeting. **Tutorial in class today

Day 27: W (9/16): 10 min. for reflections and then begin Socratic Seminar. Students should be prepared from monday (9/14) with their annotations for Sir Francis Bacon, "On Revenge."

Day 28:Th (9/17): Tutorials

Day 29: F (9/18): Notebook checks, grade check, complete Kodak moment and share the last of group presentations for, "AVID Island." Finish annotations of Sir Francis Bacon excerpt. 

Day 30: M (9/21): Word of the day; Power point on PSAT Prep; AVID notes on power point
